A TRIP TO THE VET
Poor Harley...had some flea infestation....and had to get an allergy shot, got a new flea med: Comfortis, and antibiotics. Merry Christmas to him one hundred fifty dollars later. But this is where it gets good. This woman sitting in the waiting area (with a YORKIE) calls possibily a son says I want you to talk to "Roxy" and tell her that it is okay because she is so nervous. Then the woman says "are you talking to her? I am going to put it on speakerphone so she can hear you!" then she puts the phone up to Roxy's ear. I can hear a guy saying something but couldn't make it out the words. Then after the phone call she puts Roxy back in her crate and puts all of these brochures with pictures of dogs on them that she found in the vets office and says "these pictures will make you feel better"!
Another woman and I were making eye contact and I really thought I was going to bust out laughing. Tried to secretly get a picture but just took one of Harley because I got nervous she would see me. Who knows what a wacko like that might do if I took her and her dog's picture!

Time Out
Look who is in time-out!!??. Actually put himself in time out tonight...I made us a new dinner tonight. Pork Chop Hashbrown Casserole. UMMMMMM. And well Freddie got seconds and Harley "snuck" into the den. (He and other doggie Hank must stay in Kitchen while we eat)...well Freddie went to go to the bathroom and his dinner was on his "tray" that we have in the den. Well Harley got himself a piece of porkchop and was eating it on the ottoman. Too bad I caught him. Good thing it was seconds and that I made extra. Or Harley might be "meat" for another dinner if you know what I mean. Well poor Harley put himself in time out. Actually not poor Harley because after being yelled out by both of us...he growled and showed his teeth. Bad, bad doggie! Oh and he is now not allowed in the den tonight, according to Daddy! So I am being punished with the dogs while I try to make treats for my class.

Two For Tuesday
Here are my two random posts of the day:
One-after cleaning up after my yummy homemade dinner (vension casserole, rice, turnip greens with pepper sauce, and done butter biscuits) my dog (Hank) decides to hike his leg up and pee on the toilet paper. Isn't that an oxymoron? Aren't you supposed to wipe up with the tp? At least it was a huge thing of it from Sam's and protected by plastic!
Two-why is it that when parents visit the classroom that kids act wild and crazy? Wouldn't you think that if your mom and dad (or whoever) came to school that you would be on your best behavior? Um...it must have been opposite day. When the parents came today, they acted worse. Oh me oh me oh my! I even said if my mom and dad had come I would have been "perfect". One student says "or you would have gotten a whoopin?" Yeah....back in the day. Do kids still get these?

TIMMMMMMMMMBER!
So yesterday as I was working on my big project for my masters...the lights start flickering and it is raining hard. I am thinking I better keep saving or the power is going to go out. Then I hear a noise and think that something hit the roof. Go out front. See nothing...go out back...SEE A FREAKIN' TREE DOWN IN MY BACKYARD! Yep, the roots and all went up underneath the chain link fence so a big ole hole in the fence too.
If anyone needs firewood for the winter, let us know. Bring your chainsaw. We don't even have a fire place! I hope hubby wants to clean this mess up. Probably not! Yesterday he was at some "ping pong tournament"...what kind of excuse for drinking is that? Anyway, he did not seem to care that we had a tree down in our backyard. I think he thought it was a little tree....um NO...goes all the way across the backyard.
So bring your chainsaws and I will provide the beer or wine. We'll have a little Stock Your Fireplace Party!

Who's Your Daddy?
So a few weeks ago, I left my cell phone at home. I use it like my clock. I take it to recess with my kids and well I just felt so empty and lost without it. (Cause my expensive watch just doesn't really work!) What is a girl to do?
So I email hubby when I get to school and tell him when he wakes up he needs to bring me my phone.
A couple hours later, he arrives at my back door at school, and gives it to my assistant. Of course we are in the middle of dancing to our spelling words. One kid yells, "Mrs. Neal, who was that? Was that your dadddy?"
HA!!!!! HA!!!!!! HA!!!!!! My daddy, huh? Um no that is my husband.
My assistant and I were laughing so hard I think I started crying. So apparently I am soooo young looking. Must be the absence of gray hair! Although I guess I should knock on some wood....
Kids are just so funny sometimes and don't even know it!

GOOOOOOOO DAWGS!!
Go DAWGS....SIC 'EM!
So last weekend when Georgia played Central Michigan and beat them to a pulp, Freddie and I went to Athens with some friends. One it was my "birthday weekend" (Monday the 8th) so of course we needed to do something fun. We rode up there with our friends Amy & Hyden. They are so much fun. Anyway, we park at the Kroger in A-town and get into an Escalade to go tail-gate. ALL 8 of us scrunched up on the coolers, BBQ, food, chairs, etc. What a sight for sore eyes. Then we have the ultimate parking spot right next to the stadium. We could see inside the stadium from where we were.
It was Freddie and my first game "together". I can't believe since we have been dating and engaged, now married, that we never have gone to a game.
Anyway, the game was fun (and hot). I won't tell you what Freddie snuck into the game and then proceeded to put in my purse. And then we were talking to some guy from the GBI. Felt nervous!!! Like a kid at a high school football game.
Then we come home and the ride home was hilarious.....I will post some pics from that later.

First Grade Facts Part One
So it has been a while since I have blogged. SOOO busy and well lately I have been addicted to facebook...it is so quick!
Anyway, I am now officially a first grade teacher and sooooooooo exhausted. I have twenty first graders in my room. Boy they keep you on your toes. And now guess what? I lost my voice. Cold maybe? Who knows. Try teaching twenty little ones with no voice. That was fun today.
Facts for the Day:
1.No matter how many times you ask them to be quiet. They TALK NON-STOP.
2.They love to throw rocks at recess...and try to maybe hit an assistant or two.
3.They come back from lunch with mustard and whatever all over their face.
4.They will do anything and I mean anything for ONE single little Skittle. And they will cry if they do not get one.
5.They raise their hands but yell Mrs. Neal, Mrs. Neal, Mrs. Neal, Mrs. Neal....all day long. Can I change my name?
6.They pee all day long. Do kids really need to use the bathroom THAT much?
7.If they don't call me Mrs. Neal, they call me MOMMA. WHAT? Um....not yet, thank you.
8.They all look forward to Fun Friday...and SO DO I! :)

GOOOOO DAWGS!!!!!
Dawgs ranked No. 1 in today's USA TODAY/Coaches poll
Coaches rank Georgia No. 1
By CHIP TOWERS
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Published on: 08/01/08
Athens — It's official. Georgia is No. 1.
To date, the tremendous expectations for the Bulldogs in 2008 were mostly, well, just expectations. But with Friday morning's news that Georgia took the top spot in the USA Today/Coaches preseason poll, the notion that the Bulldogs should contend for a national championship this season is tangible and real. Georgia opens the season on Aug. 30 against Ga. Southern.
"Being number one in the coaches' preseason poll does have significance since it's one-third of the formula to decide who plays in the national championship game," Georgia coach Mark Richt said Friday in press release from the university. "But the postseason poll is the one that is the most important. However, I know the ranking is exciting for Georgia football and hopefully we can do our part to stay in the race."
Georgia has never been ranked No. 1 by a major poll in the preseason, according to the UGA sports communications office. The Bulldogs were ranked No. 2 by The Associated Press in 1942, No. 3 by AP in 2004 and No. 6 by AP in 1967. The highest preseason ranking they received from the coaches poll was No. 4 in 2004. Georgia finished No. 1 in 1942 in six different polls but not AP.
Georgia has already been declared preseason No. 1 in several preseason publications, including The Sporting News, Lindy's, Blue Ribbon and the Birmingham News. AJC columnist Mark Bradley and college football expert Tony Barnhart are among several media members who have tabbed the Bulldogs to win it all in 2008.
Oddly, Georgia, which finished last season ranked No. 2 by AP and No. 3 by the coaches, was not even predicted to win the Eastern Division in the Southeastern Conference this season, much less the overall league championship. That distinction went to Florida.
The complete poll:
1. Georgia
2. USC
3. Ohio State
4. Oklahoma
5. Florida
6. LSU
7. Missouri
8. West Virginia
9. Clemson
10. Texas
11. Auburn
12. Wisconsin
13. Kansas
14. Texas Tech
15. Virginia Tech
16. Arizona State
17. Brigham Young
18. Tennessee
19. Illinois
20. Oregon
21. South Florida
22. Penn State

Helen or Bust....
Yesterday, I went to Helen, Georgia (little Germany) to visit with our niece and nephew from Colorado. They were visiting their other granny near Atlanta so we met them for the day. The pic is all of my nieces and one nephew. I had never been to Helen before and all of the buildings look like they belong in Germany. They even have an Octoberfest each year...I might need to check that out!

Thirsty Thursday
In honor of Thirsty Thursday, I will say my cousin's weekend last weekend was my first experience with Bud Light Limes. UMMM! I liked them. Of course BL's are my top favorite but the new BLL's work just as nice.
Here are some more pics of the big event:
Freddie and me (our before pic...never really got the after, though):
They are all enjoying some BLs!
Of course, they are only having water and wedding cake. No drinkies for the little princesses!

The Getaway Car
This weekend my cousin (actually cousin's cousin) got married. We are very close to my cousin. My sister was the maid of honor and I was a reader. But the Bride and Groom did not have a way home and so guess who was driving? Yep, the bride with her parents in the back. How funny! Everyone had a "little" too much fun if you know what I mean!

WHOOOA!
Yesterday, we spent the hot, hot day at the lake. Not our normal lake spot. We were in our future "retirement" territory as my hubby says. His grandmom had some land out there, so who knows, we may have a nice retirement home...but it is in the middle of no-where land! :) We cruised through the land to check it out. He could pee off the porch (on our imaginary home right now...it is just land) and NOT A SINGLE PERSON would see him!
Anyway, we were crusin' with some friends on the water and saw this. I had never seen one before. An air chair? So gotta have one of these....does anyone out there have one or been on one?

Fun Friday!
Check out the side of my blog where it says: Weather in the AUG
Um, I am wearing a bikini.
That is a joke! Although it is hot as hell here. But no bikini for me. Wouldn't want to scare anyone! :)
Happy Friday!

Fun Friday
Let me leave you with these lyrics. Today is my first official day! SCHOOOOOLLLL's OUT FOR SUMMMMMA!
Well we got no choice
All the girls and boys
Makin all that noise
'Cause they found new toys
Well we can't salute ya
Can't find a flag
If that don't suit ya
That's a drag
School's out for summer
School's out forever
School's been blown to pieces
No more pencils
No more books
No more teacher's dirty looks
Well we got no class
And we got no principles
And we got no innocence
We can't even think of a word that rhymes
School's out for summer
School's out forever
School's been blown to pieces
No more pencils
No more books
No more teacher's dirty looks
Out for summer
Out till fall
We might not go back at all
School's out forever
School's out for summer
School's out with fever
School's out completely
Well we got no choice
All the girls and boys
Makin all that noise
'Cause they found new toys
Well we can't salute ya
Can't find a flag
If that don't suit ya
That's a drag
School's out for summer
School's out forever
School's been blown to pieces

Am I a LOSER?
Maybe...you tell me. My hubby goes out with his friends every Thursday night. So who wants to sit at home all alone? Most of my friends have babies or are "too old" to go out and rockstar with me on Thursday nights. So last night I went BY MYSELF. Yep, first time eva...to see Sex and the City. I must say I think I was the oldest person there. It was at 12:01 am. It was a bunch of like twenty-something girls. But it was packed and funny. I definitely was not staying at home and I tried to find some takers but no one wanted to go that late with me. What a bunch of woosies! I think the movie was cute but it was 2 1/2 hours long..so I did not get home until after hubby! And when he called I could not answer because I was at a movie!!!

Edisto Shrimp
Tonight's dinner included some shrimp from Edisto my parents brought back to us from their weekend at the beach. I found a good way to cook them:
It was called " Louis Lagarde" Shrimp. And I am impressed with my recipe. Apparently he was a famous colonel who wrote a book about Gunshot Injuries back in the day. So maybe it will make ya shot someone it is so spicy. Actually it was pretty damn spicy (had cayenne pepper) in it. I found it in my 'Pon Top Edisto cookbook I have and it was good with some french bread (to sop up ya sauce with) and some cheese grits and some roasted green beans (my new favorite...I could eat them EVERY night!!!!)
Here are what the leftovers look like:
If you want the recipe, let me know! :)
Well, here it is:
Louis Legarde Shrimp
½ cup unsalted butter, melted
1 tablespoon minced garlic
½ teaspoon dried rosemary
½ teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon cayenne
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon thyme
1 pound large shrimp in shell
¼ cup white wine
Combine butter and spices in a skillet and heat.
Add shrimp and wine. Cook until shrimp turn pink about 3 minutes.
Serve with crusty French bread for dunking in sauce.
Remember: spicy and fun!

Watch Out Martha
Watch out Martha, Here I Come!!!!!!
Just kidding. But I am very impressed with my wine cork wreath! Whatcha think? I mean I think I could start a little business (ha!) but it was rather easy thanks to my cousin's wife who gave me a whole bag of corks (they are caterers)....but it took a whole lotta hot glue, too! My ribbon is a little off centered...but oh well!
