Two For Tuesday

Here are my two random posts of the day:

One-after cleaning up after my yummy homemade dinner (vension casserole, rice, turnip greens with pepper sauce, and done butter biscuits) my dog (Hank) decides to hike his leg up and pee on the toilet paper. Isn't that an oxymoron? Aren't you supposed to wipe up with the tp? At least it was a huge thing of it from Sam's and protected by plastic!

Two-why is it that when parents visit the classroom that kids act wild and crazy? Wouldn't you think that if your mom and dad (or whoever) came to school that you would be on your best behavior? Um...it must have been opposite day. When the parents came today, they acted worse. Oh me oh me oh my! I even said if my mom and dad had come I would have been "perfect". One student says "or you would have gotten a whoopin?" Yeah....back in the day. Do kids still get these?

Kindergarten Kronicles, Part Three Million Probably

So as you well may know, Monday was St. Patty's Day.

Well a leprechaun came to my room and caused some mischief.
He pulled down some book bags, he played in the home living center and left a mess, he sprinkled green glitter on my teaching table, he left green M&M's for everyone, he messed up the naptime blankets, and turned over chairs!! He even left a green feather that came from his hat.

Do you know what my husband said?

Me: A leprechaun came to my room today (Monday I was telling him).
Hubby: Really?
Me: Yes, he...(told him about the above things)
Hubby: Why did he do that?
Me: Because leprechauns like to do bad things.
Hubby: Where did you find him?
Me: What do you mean? OHHH...Do you believe in leprechauns?
Hubby: NO.
Hubby: I thought you might have some midget dressed up come to your room.
Me: Um, NOOOO. "I" was the leprechaun.
Hubby: Well Santa came to your school...

Yeah, but you can find a Big Fat man to dress up like Santa. Finding a two foot midget is a little bit harder!

Moral of the story: It is a good thing my hubby is not a teacher!

The First Day of School

Margarita???
OR Nap???

Remember when you were little and you would be sooo excited about the first day of school? I at least would when I got older because I got so bored of my parents and/or only hanging out with my sister. Well, tomorrow is the first day of school for kids and guess who isn't teaching fourth grade? Nope. I was supposed to teach fourth grade, my room was all set up for the lovely darlings, and at 4pm on Thursday, I was told that I am teaching kindergarten. OH MY GOODNESS!!! WHAT??? Yep, that's what I thought too. Why me? Well, I have been soooooo stressed out because I am getting my masters and had two papers to type, and all of this little people stuff to get ready. They may be crying tomorrow morning when their parents drop them off, and well, I might be too. Maybe I will have to buy my own mat and take my own little nappie with them. So don't come knockin' on Ms. Williams door tomorrow around 12. Hopefully, I will be teaching them how to take out their mats and take a nice little nappie. And I might need one, or a margarita, when school gets out at 3!! Wish me luck.......I had fifth graders last year!!!!
