Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween Everyone!

So today was a bit refreshing compared to last year. Last year my fifth graders were out-of-control crazy at the Halloween party. This year my kindergarten students were just too cute.

For one, we had witches brew or scary punch...I told them it was both today. And said that it would make them smarter...who wants some??? All of them raised their hands. This is what we did.....

We had dry ice (for the spookness) and then:
1 (.13 ounce) envelope unsweetened grape kool-aid
1 (.13 ounce) envelope unsweetened orange kool-aid
2 cups white sugar
3 quarts cold water
1 liter ginger ale

and then to top it off...we froze gummy worms in ice cubes and put it in their cups as a surprise. They drank it all.....must have liked it.

Then, a parent brought cupcakes with BLACK icing. Well, that stuff stains and was all over the place. They were making themselves have beards and even putting their fingers in it. It makes your hands PURPLE and my hands are still a little purple from cleaning up.

But it was a pretty fun day! :) Except they would not let the little kiddies dress up...oh well guess they will do that tonight!!! :)

Best Weekend Moments

So, this was a pretty good fall weekend.
A few reasons:

1. GEORGIA beat the stupid Gators. Florida fans are the worst. And that blue and orange combination is just damn awful. Florida fans are just as bad as Tennessee fans. It is about time the Dawgs beat those Gators! Go Dawgs!!! Read all about it here!

2. I went to an OBSCENE Halloween Party. And there was some great "celebrities" there. The best was probably Richard Simmons. He had a whistle that he kept blowing and trying to make us drop and give him 10! That sure didn't happen but it was quite a site....check it out:
And Britney and Kevin were there, Hugh and the Playboy bunnies, Elvis, and even Monica Lewinsky and President Clinton. Of course, I went as myself. No need to be obscene!!!

3. It is actually getting cooler. Love me some fall weather!

The Clap

Tonight, my fiance and I went to dinner with my parents and my soon-to-be-in-laws at this Irish restaurant. Pretty tasty if I must say so myself. We got on the topic of being sick. (I had bronchitis last week). And my mom proceeded to talk about how when I was in college I had the flu, strep, etc. and the infirmary (health clinic) on campus was too booked to see me. Well don't mess with Brenda because she called and let them have it and well from then on, anytime I went to the infirmary, they saw me. Apparently, I was a "sickly" child.

Well my dad says, "I only went to the infirmary two times in college. Both times they told me I had the clap!"

What?????? He loves shock value. OMG! No telling what everyone else was thinking.........

Po' Folks

POOR MAN'S DINNER.........

So tonight for dinner, I made a poor folks dinner.
Let me tell you how cheap it is:
1 can of pink salmon : $1.89
1 egg
1/2 cup meal
1/2 cup flour
some grated onion

Mix together and make patties and then fry in a pan.

With this, I made grits...cheap like $1.50 for a box of quick grits...the cheese is what is expensive, but already had it.

Then made some homemade roumelade....some mayo, hot sauce, wickles, worcetershire sauce, and some pepper.

Looks pretty good huh? Well if you don't like canned Salmon I guess you are out of luck. But this dinner could be under $5 bucks!!!

Freddie ate and this made this little plate to save? For leftovers? Not quite sure but I thought it looked pretty so I took a pic!

HAPPY 30th AMANDA!

So this is a little ode to my sista, Amanda. Today is her 30th birthday....I think she has had a good one so far. We are going to the beach this weekend to celebrate so I will definitely post some of those pics. It is her 30th Birthday Beach Celebration at Edisto. WHOOO!

So this is just a few highlights of her birthday so far:

1. At her job on Tuesday, they had a sale...30% off due to Amanda turning 30 and they even had a margartia machine so all the ladies would get drunk and buy lots of clothes. What a clever idea.
2. She got her own portable margarita machine.
3. Last night we celebrated at the French Market Grille and she got to eat frozen peanut butter pie in front of mom with no comments!
4. I gave her a great present, although let's hope no one gets sick, I have bronchitis.
5. My dad's crazy drunk friend said the following: Amanda goes, "Roger, you can have some of my cake". And he says, "That's what all the ladies tell me!!" What a mess...he is a riot, but I don't think it is on purpose!!!!

So this is Amanda about 30 years ago (and my great grandfather) Well, maybe not 30 but 29..couldn't find a baby pic!:

And her most recent pics will be posted after the fun-filled weekend!!!

Soldier Boy? NOT EVEN.....

Okay, so I am the stupid teacher who thinks my little five and six year old girls are doing this little cute dance for me called soldier boy. I figured it was a rap song but thought it was like some one little Little Bow Wow or something clean they watch on Disney....um wrong. I looked it up on the internet....and WHATTTT??????? They should not be listening to this crap...nor do I understand what the heck he is talking about. If someone knows, please let me know.....

Should I stop these little ones from doing the dance?

And it ain't Soldier Boy....it's SOULJA BOI.....what??????

Here are the lyrics, just a little fyi....:

Crank Dat (Soulja Boy)

[Chorus: x2]
Soulja boy off in this hoe
Watch me crank it, watch me roll
Watch me crank dat soulja boy
Then super man dat hoe
Now watch me do (Crank dat soulja boy)
Now watch me do (Crank dat soulja boy)
Now watch me do (Crank dat soulja boy)
Now watch me do (Crank dat soulja boy)

[verse 1:]

Watch me lean and watch me rock
Super man dat hoe

Yes I crank it everyday
Haterz get mad cuz
"I got me some bathin apes"

[Chorus x2]

[Verse 2:]
I’m bouncin on my toe
Watch me super soak dat hoe
I'ma pass it to arab
Then he gon pass it to the low (low)
Haterz wanna be me
Soulja boy, I’m the man
They be lookin at my neck
Sayin it’s the rubberband man (man)
Watch me do it (watch me do it)

Let get to it (let get to it)
Nope, you can't do it like me
Hoe, so don't do it like me

Engagement Picture

So, wedding bells are in the air...finally getting some things done. Took a little kick in the ass but it worked!! Tonight we had to go to a BBQ and so we already had to get dressed up why not take some pics! So we took some pics for our engagement picture that will be in the lovely Augusta paper. Had my mom take the pics instead of paying someone...so actually I saved my parentals some money. Wonder if they will take me shopping or something...or maybe they can add that amount to the band I have yet to get. BTW, if anyone out in there in blog-land has a good band, let me know. Oh, and fyi I think my dad said I was on a budget so keep that in mind.

Here is our possible engagement picture:

Thursday Thirteen

Things I Have Learned from my Kindergarten Class (lately)

1.One Skittle can do amazing things. Yep, a Skittle. It doesn't matter red, green, yellow, orange....
2.Not getting one Skittle can make some cry and cry and cry. And I am talking real tears.
3.One sticker can do amazing things. Yep, one little sticker.
4.They do not forget anything. Like when you promise to give them a sticker or a Skittle. They will remind you.
5.Some of them stay up wayyyyyy toooo late.
6.Some of them watch shows they shouldnt. For example, several of my boys were singing "Bad Boys, Bad Boys, Whatcha gonna do, Whatcha gonna do when they come for you?" Um, they watch COPS? They are five!
7.The day goes by much faster with five years old than yucky fifth graders from last year.
8.They love routines. Tomorrow is probably going to be WILD...not our routine, going to the PUMPKIN PATCH!
9.According to them, Ms. Williams can do anything. (Overheard one little boy telling another little boy that. Sure makes me feel good!!!!! Glad someone thinks that!!)
10.They are all a little OCD......it could be a loose tooth, a hangnail, whatever. That is ALL they are going to talk about all day long.
11.They are little liars (at times). One told me the other morning that her grandfather got shot in the house. WHAT???? I said should I call your mom and ask her about that? Then it turned into a dream that she had. How convenient.
12.They love food. Doesn't matter what it is: cookies, pancakes, applesauce, chips....They love snacktime. I have even seen some eat the crumbs off the floor. They will even cry if their parents forget to pack them a snack.
13.Last but not least, they love to brown nose. I think that I could come to school wearing a grocery sack and someone would tell me how pretty my dress looks! Gotta love it! Great EGO booster!

Geetting A Mouthful

So, I have a friend who can remain nameless for the sake of this story. I have been friends with this person since college and she knows EVERYTHING about me. However, sometimes I think that maybe if I had tried to steal one of her boyfriends (which I would never have done) or her now husband (which of course I would never do) that she might have kicked my arse!!! Don't cross her in a dark alley doing something stupid.

So yesterday she calls to tell me that she just cussed someone out in the Drive-Thru lane at Taco Hell. Yes, Taco Hell. I mean I love that place but you are just asking for trouble (slowness, wrong order, etc.) for a $.89 taco. She tells me that she waited in the line for like 20 minutes because some *&^%#@# was taking too long. Apparently, they couldn't get his order right, or they were waiting on the refried beans to cook or something. Well he must have pulled up a little and realized that his order was still wrong, so he gets out of his car and tries to walk to the window. In the meantime my friend (who I can only imagine) is probably already so pissed off that she can't stand it anymore. She yells at the guy to get away from her car, to get back into his car, and go inside to fix his order. She tells him that "HIS TURN IS OVER!!!!" It is now HER turn. Then tells him that she is going to run him over. I mean I wish I had a video of this.......and the guy is like what? She is like yeah get back in your car and move your car and then YOU can go inside. It is now my turn and I have been waiting on you for 20 minutes. And well.....the guys does it! So all I have to say is 1-she is lucky she didn't get shot and 2-what a wimp!!!!

Side note: one time she called and complained to Taco Bell because she ordered taco with NO LETTUCE and guess what??? There was one piece of shredded lettuce in her taco.

Gotta love this girl!!!

Skeletons in the Closet

Okay,
So in honor of the upcoming holiday, Halloween. These are some skeletons he had in his closet........This is a picture of my soon-to-be-husband's shirt and shorts I found in his closet. Yes, tonight, while making Chicken N Dumplings and Yummy salad, I decided we needed to clean out one of his closets and take some things to GoodWill before I move in and we get married. These are two items I found in his closet. There is also a picture of a sweater I found with different colored squares, but it was too dark to see them. I laugh everytime I look at the shirt. It is ready to wear-starched and everything. He must have loved those patch-work clothes in the 80s!! :) He might kill me for posting this, but he knows it is funny, too! We were laughing at some of his clothes......and let me tell you, he has more clothes than me and they still have tags on them!!!
